Application: The SE-E1 control module is ideally suited for installation in electronic motor terminal boxes because of its compact and robust construction, its power and its excellent ambient temperature compatibility. The module is very reliable and is used in millions of installations worldwide.

Function: In accordance with DIN 44081/082, different sensing temperatures, up to 7 PTC sensors, can be connected to the test circuit inputs, so that with just one SE-E1 motor protector it is possible to monitor the temperature overheating of one to several motor drives (e.g. motor rotation, engine drives, bearing measurements). If the temperature in one of the monitored areas exceeds the normal response temperature of the respective PTC sensor, the resistance of the sensor increases and at the same time the SE-E1 motor protector switches off the motor current contactor. When the temperature drops to approximately 3K below the specified temperature, the module restarts. The output relay provides a voltage-free, switchable connection, while at the same time it supplies energy as long as the temperature does not exceed the normal temperature, giving it a self-monitoring function. Because this device also acts on the PTC or leads to open circuits.
