Product Description
TRAE 60 HCA Emerson Thermal Expansion Valve
The Emerson TRAE 60 HCA Thermal Expansion Valve is the seventeenth model of the TRAE series of thermal expansion valves in the Emerson Fluid Control Valves catalog of standard model numbers.
The TRAE series features a dual balanced orifice design and a monolithic product design to meet a wide range of load variations and evaporative temperature variations.
The TRAE Expansion Series thermal expansion valves are suitable for air conditioners, heat pumps, specialty air conditioners, and transportation vehicle air conditioners with heat pumps.
Feature Description:
Compact integral design with welded connections;
Suitable for refrigerants R410A/R407C/R22;
Maximum working pressure: 46.9 bar;
Bi-directional design: Forward and reverse balanced valve port design eliminates unbalanced force from condensing pressure. Optimized forward and reverse static superheat design optimizes forward and reverse capability in cooling and heating modes;
Optimized reverse superheat setting makes it more suitable for heat pump systems in heating mode, stainless steel power head, specially designed diaphragm in the high pressure pressure of the balance pipe life lasting can be customized according to the needs of the factory superheat setting.
Next we decipher the model number of this thermal expansion valve:
First we need to know that TRAE 60 HCA is applied R22 refrigerant.
“TRA” indicates the series of the valve, double balanced orifice;
“E” external balancing port, 1/4 threaded connection;
“60” denotes a thermal expansion valve with a nominal cooling capacity of 60 cooling tons (212 kW);
The letter “H” indicates that the applicable refrigerant is R22.
“CA” means that the charging method is heat pump charging;
The maximum allowable temperature of the temperature sensing package is 120℃, and the temperature evaporation range is -29~10℃.
If you look closely at the expansion valve body, you will also find this model behind the word “6A”, this is the static superheat method, “6A” that the static superheat of 3.3K (4A = 2.2K).
Here to explain the nominal refrigeration capacity based on the working conditions: the application of R410A, R404A, R134a, R22 refrigerant, the nominal refrigeration capacity of the calibration conditions based on the evaporating temperature of +4.4 ℃, +37.8 ℃ condensing temperature, the degree of subcooling 1K.
In addition, the length of the capillary tube in the technical data is generally used “FT said”, 10FT said 10 feet, converted to 3 meters (30 inches = 0.75 meters); “7/8x1-1/8” indicates that the specifications of the receiver, which is the inlet x the outlet; the receiver ODF means welded; “S/T” means the valve is straight-through structure.
